Choosing a hotel based on the Star rating

When you are planning a vacation or a business trip you need to choose the right star hotel.

The are so many hotels through out the world it's not always easy to know which one is the best.

If you are planning a short weekend trip and pampering yourself is not a priority then a 1 or 2 star hotel might suit your needs.

1 and 2 star hotels usually only offer the basics.

These amenities which may or may not include concierge, swimming pool, continental breakfast, and cable television.

So if you are just planning on spending a night or two without a need for leisure and dining then a 1 or 2 star hotel might be all you are looking for.

Although 1 & 2 star hotels are at the bottom of the scale it doesn't always mean that you will be dissatisfied.

It all depends on what you expect at your hotel stay. Some 1 and 2 star hotels get there rating because they have very little amenities available.

Other hotels rate low because of poor service or cleanliness.

Others rate low not because of lack of service or amenities but because there outdated might cause overall discomfort.

3 star hotels are in the middle of the road from 1 plus 5m.

They offer rooms that are probably a little more modern then a 1 or 2 star.

However a swimming pool/ spa area is very likely along with room service including continental breakfast.

Other things that 3 star hotels usually offer are conference rooms, restaurant/bar lounge.

Not every 1 star hotel is the same as not every five star hotel is the same.

If you want the very best it is up to you to look up information on the kind of hotels you are looking for.

One of the best things you can do is search information on hotels online.

You even read customer reviews.

There you can get a better idea of what kind of stay you can expect at a particular hotel.

Things to look forward to at a 5 star hotel are: swimming pool/ spa area, health club, full room service, conference/business center, babysitting services, in room hair dryer, mini bar, complimentary internet access, safe deposit box, laundry service, valet service, cafe, cigar bar, library lounge, specialty restaurants (cuisine dining), rooms with balcony, and VIP rooms.

Also if you are looking for top notch there's the pent house or "Presidential" suite option at most 5 star hotel.

These rooms usually include large living rooms, dining room, and floor to ceiling windows and much more.

If you are looking for the highest quality hotel at the place you want to travel do your best to plan ahead. Call a few hotels and ask questions.

Find out if they have the amenities and services that you will need during your hotel stay.

Use the Internet to view photos of different hotels.

Most Internet sources have photos of the inside and out of different hotels where you are planning your next stay.

Also read the reviews and compare prices. Some hotels offer the same quality but at a more competitive price.

Always do your best to reserve your hotel room far enough and advance and remember to have it confirmed.
