They do. There are at least five beaches to choose from.
Smathers Beach: Huge sandy beach, excellent swimming conditions
Dog beach: Dogs are not required to wear leashes
Higgs beach: White sand, free parking, and roosters roaming freely
South beach : best sunsets and white sand
Rest beach : It's a small beach but it's the ideal spot for sunrises
Fort Zachary Taylor beach: The shoreline of this natural beach is largely made up of ground coral.
Bahia Honda State Park: excellent for snorkeling and camping
All of them are public beaches.
It is South Beach that is most popular.
In the summer, you might see a lot of seaweed on the beaches. Every night, the town cleans them thoroughly.
There is a very small beach called Anne's Beach. The sand is white and there are no seaweeds. The waters are shallow, and you have to walk quite a distance to reach any depth.
In January, there are average lows of 66°F and highs of 74°F.
Key West's longest beach, Smathers Beach, is free. The park is lined with palm trees and has volleyball courts and picnic tables. The water is sometimes murky on this beach, and it's shallow.
In Florida, you can access many beautiful beaches for free. You may need to pay for parking at some beaches.
In addition to having the only living barrier reef in the continental United States, Key West is a popular snorkeling destination. You can choose from morning, afternoon, or all-day snorkeling excursions.
Boating, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing.
The best way to experience Key West is from the water. A few of the activities available are sunset cruises, dolphin watching, island hopping and camping, sandbar trips, fishing, lobstering, bird watching, snorkeling, and back-country exploring.
Visiting between June and August will help you avoid crowds
The best time to visit is in the off-season, roughly from June to November. The cheapest months are September and November.
Not at all. Cuba is not visible. This is just a fun legend.
Key West's Duval Street is known as the party epicenter and the island's "main drag." It is lined with bars, pubs, outdoor cafes, shops, galleries, restaurants, and celebrated attractions.
There are beach bars where you can eat and drink, but you cannot eat and drink on the beach.

Cuban and Caribbean island chickens are descendants of jungle fowl that roam the streets of Key West.
Birds were brought to our island by our ancestors for consumption. Also, chickens were used in the now illegal sport of cockfighting.
Wild chickens are considered an invasive species. The chicken population is spreading up the Keys, which could crowd out some of the last remaining native species.
