There is very little crime in St. Lucia, but you should use common sense as you would anywhere.

Don't walk down quiet, unlit streets at night alone, and take a taxi if you have a long walk back to your accommodation in the middle of the night. Look for blue-plated taxis.

St. Lucia's best swimming beaches are on its leeward west coast, which faces the Caribbean Sea. There is Reduit beach, Jalousie Beach, Anse Chastanet, Anser Louvert, Grande Anse and Marigot Bay.
The island has two main paved roads that go around it, and it can take up to two hours to complete the drive. The road is less narrow and winding on the east side of the island where the Caribbean Sea is located.
